For the past seven years we have been providing free online resources to rental property owners in Wisconsin such as free apartments for rent listings, for sale by owner listings and forms for managers. Links to our Wisconsin sites.
We host a library of articles on topics like management, filling vacancies, buying investment properties, mortgages and finance, management, property services, sources of materials and services. Check out our site TheLandlordGuide.com It too is currenty Wisconsin focused. We also run and moderate ApartmentAssoc a Yahoo! discussion group on rental housing issues.
One project that currently has a national focus is ThePropertyOwner.com This site features daily news breifs on articles of interest to rental property owners, property managers and real estate investors.
Goals
Our goal today is to take some of the things we are doing in here nationwide as a means of opening dialog between small owners across the country.
It is not our intent to interferre with exisiting trade groups and associaitons, rather complement the efforts.
What is our purpose
Bad ideas and anti-rental legislation travel quickly around the country. If we were more organized locally, regionally and nationally we would not be suffering under the laws, poor public perception and traditions that we do now.
Rental property owners outnumber schoolteachers by a factor of more than 4 to 1. Yet, the teacher’s lobby is the 800-pound gorilla at the state houses, city halls and town boards, while the property owners often appear to politicians to be nothing more than a bunch of 60-pound monkeys. [This is not an attack on the teacher lobby, rather envy. Many of the teachers I know are real estate investors]
Local landlords, Property Managers and Real Estate industry Leaders
To be effective we will need local landlords, property managers and real estate industry leaders as partners.
We are very excited about taking this project national and see a wealth of opportunities for all involved.
